Around here we just say it simply…
“Gus knows mold.”
Meet Gus – The Nose That Knows
At Mountain Mold Dog, identifying hidden mold is serious business. And that job starts with one very eager teammate: Gus.
Gus is a male schnauzer-poodle mix who became part of the Barham family after Jay and Beth met him during a visit to Burke County. He was a rescue with an expressive face, an unstoppable curiosity, and the kind of energy that lights up a room. It was love at first sight, and also the beginning of something much bigger.
Gus completed an intensive three-month mold detection training program at Florida Canine Academy under renowned trainer Bill Whitstine. The training is humane and structured, and Gus thrived in it. Bill quickly recognized Gus’s confidence, drive, and sharp instincts, calling him a natural for scent work. Now certified and field-tested, Gus is an important part of the team, combining an energetic personality with dependable results.
Gus is always ready to get to work. He may charm you with his tail wags, but when it comes to mold detection, he’s all business. Whether he’s sniffing crawl spaces or alerting to hidden issues behind walls, Gus brings both heart and skill to every inspection.
